There is a steady spike in health-related problems due to a not so favorable lifestyle, and one of them is dehydration. We are so caught up the whole time, we often forget to drink water or simply avoid it. Now, the happy part, drinking more water doesn’t have to be that difficult or boring, or even tasteless. Here are our favorite and one hundred percent proven ways to consume more water every single day.
Keep a water bottle at every damn place: Let one simply be there on the couch. Every time you watch some TV make it a point to drink a little water. Keep one in the car and on the dining table and on your office desk too!! The more you see it, the better. That way you will never stay dehydrated because you forgot or were bored to get up.
Get yourself some fancy accessories: There is a very good reason why the wellness industry is booming, the fancy things make people want to adapt to a few healthy habits which they wouldn’t otherwise. Give me a Harry Potter water bottle, and I would totally keep it on my desk, and take it with me for the morning walk as well. P.s: It’s kind of a little bribe to ourselves, but it’s fine, enough water consumption never harmed anybody.
Have infused water: Add a few fresh fruit slices and herbs to your water. Play around with flavors until you find the one that hits the sweet spot. The water will keep getting tastier as the infusion takes place. Try out different variants of infused water and if you invent any, do let me know in the comment section below, I love experimenting with my infusion water.
Have a water-based wallpaper on the most frequently used devices: Yes it sounds silly, and probably is. But it works. Most of us are addicted to screens( which btw is not a good thing, but anyway), so every time you take your phone to check your Instagram feed, you’ll be reminded about drinking water.
Use health planner charts or phone apps to track your cup count: It seldom happens that people think they’ve consumed enough water without realizing it wasn’t half the recommended volume. These tracking methods help you keep a tab of your water deficit. Also, apps like Plant Nanny, which are like a game, are so much fun to use.
Affiliate random activities with water consumption: A friend of mine in college, had water after every pee break. I chug down a glass of water after every patient while I am at the clinic, or after every article I write while I am at this. You can invent your own fancy affiliation, just make sure it is practical and sustainable, you do not want to keep looking for new ideas all the time.
Eat your water: Consume fruits and veggies with high water content. Watermelon, lettuce, cucumber, zucchini, berries all of them have water content above 90%. As a bonus, when snacked on these, you might be able to cut down your junk consumption if you consciously do so.
Reward yourself: Technically, you are rewarded in a million ways when you have the recommended 8 glasses of water every day. Even then, there is no other happiness like getting a gift. So go ahead and get yourself a little something you’ve always wanted.
